At Studio Pier-Andrée Joyal, we are dedicated to nurturing the musical talents of individuals of all ages and skill levels. Nestled in the picturesque town of Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley, Quebec, our studio offers a tranquil and inspiring environment for in-person piano lessons, online lessons, or a combination of both! Each program is thoughtfully designed to cater to the unique needs of our students, with a curriculum based on the esteemed Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) standards to ensure a structured and rewarding experience.

In-Person Piano Lessons

Embrace the flexibility and convenience of learning the piano from the comfort of your own home with our online lessons. Utilizing state-of-the-art live video conferencing technology, these sessions offer real-time instruction and interaction with your piano instructor. This format is especially suited for busy individuals or those residing outside the local area, providing access to quality musical education without geographical constraints.

How the Studio Operates

  • Lessons are available in person and/or online.
     
  • Lessons are available for all ages and levels

  • At Studio Pier-Andrée Joyal, the academic year runs from September to June and follows the School Schedule regarding Winter and Spring breaks. “À la carte” lessons are available during the months of July and August.

  • A typical weekly lesson for beginners lasts 45 to 60 minutes; longer for advanced students or students eager to progress more rapidly

  • Lessons are tailor-made for each student according to their desires and needs. Only the best materials are used to develop a good ear and good taste.

  • Our goal is to share the joy of music while ensuring that the student receives a solid and artistic foundation from the very first lesson

  • For new students, we recommend a trial session: (Sept-Dec) (Jan-March) (April-June) or (July-Aug) after which the student may officially register at Studio Pier-Andrée Joyal to complete the academic year or sign up for the new one.

  • Fees are paid in full, per term or monthly on the first of the month, (We accept E-Transfer / Cash)

We encourage our students to view music education as a lifelong journey. Our studio  supports this journey by providing continuous learning opportunities and resources to engage with music beyond traditional lessons.  We  organize  workshops,  master classes, and seminars with visiting artists to enrich our students’ understanding  and  appreciation  of music. 


About Our Curriculum

We are proud of our vibrant community of music lovers. Students are encouraged to participate in various performance opportunities, including annual recitals, local music festivals, and community events. These performances provide valuable stage experience and foster a sense of community among students, families, and local audiences.

Our lessons are grounded in the rigorous standards of the Royal Conservatory of Music, known for its excellence in developing musicianship, technical skills, and theoretical knowledge. We prepare our students for RCM examinations, which are pivotal in their musical education journey, providing them with the credentials recognized worldwide. Beyond exams, our students participate in recitals and competitions, offering them opportunities to showcase their skills and gain confidence in their abilities.
